Staying on track in VEGAS!
Happy August everyone! This is my favorite month of the year for quite a few reasons. To name just a couple: the weather is always perfect for outdoor training and my birthday is on August 6th! :) As a true Leo, I like to celebrate for the whole month. I have never once let anyone plan my birthday because I always beat everyone to the punch. One of my all time favorite bday celebrations was a SKYDIVING adventure with some of my closest girlfriends.
This year my boyfriend has insisted on planning everything for me to ensure that I have a week full of relaxation, fun, and surprises. He whisked me away to Las Vegas yesterday and we saw Jersey Boys at the Palazzo last night. Wow! As for staying on track...
- We are both total foodies, so we checked out a Brazilian/Japanese fusion restaurant called Samba Sushi. The most amazing dish that was on the menu was called: Quinotto, a creamy peruvian quinoa with barley, manchego cheese, wild mushroom, and fresh herbs.
- The calamari was the best I've EVER had! On the menu it's called: Chicharron de Calamar, a cornmeal crusted calamari with tomato, mint, plantain, and tamarind.
- Oh, yeah, the staying on track part... We split everything we ordered so we didn't get too full. We skipped dessert and went straight to TRYST and danced for a couple hours (one of our favorite things to do!). We burned off the hidden calories that always tend to add up in restaurants and had a wonderful evening.
- We're headed for the pool where I will undoubtedly swim tons of laps and keep my metabolism chargin' while I get a desert tan. I love multitasking!
