Sculpt a sprinter's 6 pack with this exercise!!!

Sprinter Tyson Gay is the fastest man on earth!  His record for the 100-meter sprint is 9.84 seconds!  He wants to run 9.74 in Beijing so he can break the world record.  WOW!!!  If you've trained with me before, you know how much emphasis I put on strengthening the core.  Core strength is critical for peak performance in anything we do!

Master your midsection the way Gay does with this novel move: Lie on your back on a decline bench, holding a weight plate against your chest with both hands. Then lift your upper body off the bench about 6 inches. Holding this position, press the weight plate straight up from your chest, as if you're doing a bench press. Lower the weight (but not your torso) and repeat. As you push the weight, your abs have to contract even harder, says Gay. Do 12 presses, rest 1 minute, and repeat once or twice.

Be very mindful of your posture while doing this and maybe even have someone spot you.  It would be more fun to do this with a workout buddy!

Great exercise

This is a wonderful core strengthening exercise, Jenna. One thing I might add is that a healthful diet is equally important in reaching that "six pack" ab goal. If a person is throwing down the junk food, it won't matter so much how many reps they're doing. For maximum performance and appearance, both exercise and a healthy diet are critical.

SO TRUE!!!

The beauty of the body starts from the inside (literally and metaphorically!). Whoever said: "You are what you eat," could not have been more right. What we put into our bodies is so important and so is what we output. There is no secret or magic pill to being lean. It's science! Eating smart and keeping portions under control is the key. Taking in too many calories and not sufficiently expending them will make it hard to get that sculpted torso.
