It all counts!

I had an AMAZING dinner at Veggie Grill with some of my friends tonight. Instead of driving straight home and going to bed, I drove into Brentwood and parked my car at Whole Foods. It was after 10 so I walked to the furthest gas station to get a bottle of water and then in the opposite direction to get a cup of chamomile tea at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. It was a perfect night for an evening stroll.

When I lived in Spain I walked EVERYWHERE! I lost 3 sizes from walking and dancing (and eating smaller portions because that's just how they roll over there). Your body will LOVE and THANK you for giving it daily movement. Every minute of it counts. People say: parking in LA is SUCH a royal P.I.T.A.!!! Well, duh, that's because everyone is fighting over the CLOSEST spot to the front door of anywhere they're going. Park an extra block away and you'll find a spot for sure! Plus, you'll get to walk some more. Nobody walks in LA? Wanna bet? Here's one Angeleno who walks as much as she can!

Walking in L.A.

Walking is one of those easy exercises that most people can perform. Your experience in Spain sounds facinating! One bright spot about the high gasoline prices during summer 2008 was that more people walked and rode their bicycles to get around. Unfortunately, now that oil prices have abated, too many people resorted back to their old sluggish ways.
